Carpet cat

(Soganli, Turkey, 2009.)

While waiting for a new batch of films to be developed, I’ve been looking at the hundreds of pictures I took from the last two years. I miss taking pictures! I miss traveling just as much. They always go together. Nowadays going out of the house is such a drag. I better just stick to writing and remembering for now.

This is a satellite photo of the Ganges. It is a good example of pattern replication in nature. The twisting lines of the rivers are in fact approximate fractals.

Sunday with The Beatles

I’ve begun the cheerful task of uploading all 14 digitally remastered albums by The Beatles this morning. The fact that I still remember the pitches and lyrics (and most of the track sequences) reminds me how many afternoons I spent just listening to the albums, over and over again, between the ages of 11 and 17. Everything I know and love about music, I first learned from The Beatles.

They still sound incredible.
